Heather Hargreaves is a Vice President in Mercury/Clark & Weinstock’s grassroots practice. She is responsible for developing and executing strategies that mobilize coalitions to support a client’s objectives and affect key decision makers. Heather brings with her a decade of experience in grassroots politics across the country, including work in issue advocacy, campaign management, strategic operations, political outreach, and earned media.
Prior to joining Mercury, Heather managed field operations for the Alliance for Climate Protection, a national environmental non-profit working to pass comprehensive climate and energy legislation. She developed effective strategies to persuade legislative targets and oversaw campaign efforts in seven states and nine congressional districts. Additionally, she was an integral part of the team at Clean Energy Works, a first of its kind coalition of business, faith, military and environmental groups working on energy and climate change. During that time, Heather was responsible for creating and implementing a successful program to bring voices from effected constituencies to Washington, DC to share their stories to their elected representatives.
Before working at the Alliance, Heather held senior positions in democratic political campaigns across the country including General Election Director for President Barack Obama’s campaign in Nevada, Field Director for Steve Westly’s 2006 campaign for Governor of California and Director of Absentee Ballots and Early Vote for the Iowa Democratic Party in 2004. Heather has also worked for Gen. Wesley Clark, Sen. Barbara Boxer (CA), Vice President Al Gore, and Sen. Bob Graham (FL) and has volunteered on numerous campaigns across the country.
Heather graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Economics. Originally from Orange County, CA, Heather currently resides in Washington, DC.
