Ashley S. Robinson
Director

Ashley S. Robinson is currently Director at Mercury. She provides media outreach counsel and strategic communications implementation for political campaigns and Fortune 20 companies.

Most recently, she oversaw media outreach for the No on Proposition 23 campaign during the November 2010 election cycle. Working in partnership with business, health and community leaders, Robinson coordinated and implemented all media materials, press and editorial board outreach, social media and online initiatives and surrogate media opportunities, as well as coalition member-based media events statewide. She also spearheaded a rigorous opposite-editorial program focusing on papers in conservative and rural regions of the state to perpetuate the pro-business, clean technology, bipartisan dialogue. On election night, the No on Prop 23 campaign won by a stunning 22% margin, receiving more votes than the state’s gubernatorial and Federal senatorial candidates.

Before joining Mercury’s California team, she directed communication strategy and media outreach for The California Museum, a First Lady Maria Shriver initiative, targeting efforts toward elected officials, donors, the general public, educators and key stakeholders. Specifically, Robinson built up comprehensive media programs and production for the ’08 and ‘09 California Hall of Fame red carpet events, the ’08 Sacramento mayoral debate, the Library of Congress’ Lincoln Bicentennial exposition and various signature events in the Capitol community.

While working in Mercury’s Manhattan office, Robinson served as a consultant for the Rudy Giuliani for President Campaign in 2007, coordinating efforts with coalitions associated with the events of 9/11 and Mayor Giuliani’s New York City revitalization projects. She also provided media outreach for Hispanics Across America and the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.

She began her career in campaign rapid response communications as the Deputy War Room Manager for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s successful re-election campaign in 2006.

A sixth-generation Californian, Robinson graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in American history. She currently lives in Sacramento with her husband Jeffrey and their dog Dharma.
